Overview
Asset snap allows you to digitize your equipment in seconds using your phone because you can take a photo of an asset’s nameplate and then extract key details, such as make, model, and serial number.
This article will walk you through how to access asset snap on your LimbleCMMS mobile app (or on the desktop) to begin creating assets in Limble.
Table of Contents
Take or Upload a Photo
(Note: to use asset snap, you need permission #60 'Add Assets.')
Using the LimbleCMMS mobile app, scroll down to the Others section and click “Add Asset by Tag.”
(Note: on the desktop, navigate to the Manage Assets page and click “Add Assets” > “Add Quickly With Tag.”)
Select your location and click “Select.”
Click “Use camera” to take a photo in real time of your asset’s nameplate.
Ensure the photo is in focus, well lit without glares, head on without extreme angles, the text is readable, and the nameplate fills most of the frame.
(Note: when using this feature on the desktop, you’ll be prompted to upload a photo from your computer files.)
If you choose “Click to browse,” you can upload a photo from your phone’s photo library.
You can optionally upload multiple asset tag photos at once. If you upload multiple tags at once, you'll go through the next steps for each asset, one at a time.
Confirm the Data
Once the photo uploads, click “Process 1 Image.”
The asset information from the nameplate will be shown. Click “Continue to Field Mapping.”
