How to Add Instructions

To add instructions to a task, open a task and click on "Add Instruction."

Select the instruction type you want to use. Then, click "Select."

Check Box

The check box is the most commonly used instruction type. This instruction type works well for tasks where you simply want the person performing it to confirm they have done the work.

Once a technician completes an instruction, they can simply check the box and move on to the next one.

Text Box

The text box is an excellent instruction for when you want the person performing a task to respond to a question or input additional information.

Additionally, you can log the response to an asset’s log by clicking the graph icon and linking it to a specific asset field by clicking the chain link icon.

Number Instruction

The number instruction is a great instruction for keeping track of metrics on an asset. You can use it to keep track of a vehicle’s mileage, a machine’s run hours, the temperature of equipment, and much more!

Additionally, you can log the response to an asset by clicking the graph icon and linking it to a specific asset field by clicking the chain link icon.

Option List

The option list allows a user to choose from a list of different options and allows you to customize what actions should be taken based on the choice.

A technician can now choose an option and then resolve any additional tasks based on that.

Dropdown List

The dropdown list allows a user to select from a list of different options and allows you to customize what actions should be taken based on the choice.

File or Picture Attachment

You can use the file or picture attachment to ask the user to upload a file or picture to the task. You can use this to ask a user to post a picture of the issue they found, of the completed task, ask them to upload a receipt, etc.

You can see the uploaded picture or file in the task.
