Understanding what's available on Limble's new mobile app

Overview

Limble's mobile app is designed for technicians to easily complete work while in the field.

This article covers the functionality currently available in the new Limble mobile app. This article will be updated in real time to reflect any changes. If you run into any issues, reach out to our support team.

What’s available in the new mobile app

As development on the new Limble app continues into 2026, some additional features from the previous, legacy LimbleCMMS mobile app will be added. In the coming months, purchasing functionality and translation for additional languages will be added.

The legacy mobile app will eventually be retired, but the new app will go through multiple iterations and feedback rounds before that happens later in 2026.

This comparison table will be kept up to date to reflect what functionality is currently available.

The mobile app home screen

The home screen provides quick access to key areas of the app.

Home screen shortcuts

  • Scan QR - Open the QR code scanner.

  • Start a WO - Create a new work order.

  • Assets - Open your asset list.

  • Parts - Open your part inventory.

  • Support - Contact our support team and access Help Center articles.

  • Submit WR - Open the work request portal.

Home screen widgets

  • Suggested tasks - Quickly access recently created or high-priority tasks.

  • Bookmarked tasks - Save tasks to return to later.

  • My stats - Access completed tasks and time logged (daily, weekly, or monthly).

Bookmarking tasks

Bookmarking is a new feature in the Limble mobile app. Learn how to bookmark tasks in this video demo.

As a new feature, it may change as we gather feedback. Provide feedback on our product feedback board.

You can bookmark up to 10 tasks per device, making it easy to quickly return to tasks you need to finish later. When you bookmark tasks, they immediately download, so you can finish work on those tasks offline. (Note: check the download status of your bookmarked tasks by navigating to your profile.)

Important to know:

  • Bookmarks are only available in the mobile app.

  • Tasks are removed from the bookmark list once they are completed.

  • Bookmarks are device-specific. If you sign in to Limble on a different phone, your bookmarked tasks will not be available.

Completing tasks

You can use the Limble mobile app to start, complete, and review tasks.

Starting a task

  1. From the home screen bottom menu, select Tasks.


    (Note: you can also open tasks from the Suggested tasks or Bookmarked tasks home screen widgets.)

  2. Select a task from the list of open tasks.

  3. Inside a task, use the tabs to switch between:

    • Details

    • Instructions

    • Comments

  4. Select Start instructions at the bottom of the screen to begin work.

  5. Or, you can create a new task.

Creating a task

To create a new task:

  1. From the home screen, select Start a WO.

  2. Customize the work order as needed.

  3. Begin work.

Tracking task due dates


The mobile app helps you stay on top of upcoming and completed work.


Task list

From the home screen bottom menu, select Tasks to access your task list.

  • Access all open tasks assigned to you

  • Toggle between open and completed tasks

  • Use:

    • Sort (two arrows icon) to reorder tasks

    • Filter (funnel icon) to refine the list

Task calendar

From the task list, select the calendar icon (top left) to access your task calendar.

  • Review tasks by due date

  • Use the filter icon (top right) to adjust what’s shown

Managing assets

Use the mobile app to search for and review your assets.

  1. Access your assets: select Assets from the top or bottom menu on the home screen.

  2. Find an asset one of two ways:

    • Search: type the asset name in the Search bar.

    • Hierarchy:

      • Click through location > parent asset > desired asset.

      • Select Open to access asset details.

      • Tip: Use the breadcrumb menu at the top of the screen to easily navigate back as you browse.

Managing parts

Review and search your parts inventory directly from the app.

  1. From the home screen bottom menu, select ​​More > Parts.

  2. Select a location.

  3. Search for a part or browse the list.

  4. Select Open to access part details.

Custom dashboards

The first version of custom dashboards in the mobile app includes viewing and interacting with task tile and list widgets, and view-only access to part, asset, and user tile widgets.

  1. From the home screen bottom menu, select ​​More > Custom dashboards.

  2. Click the dashboard name at the top of the screen to choose and view a different dashboard from the dropdown.

Using the mobile app offline

You can continue using parts of the Limble mobile app if you lose connection unexpectedly or are working in the field without internet access.

What to expect offline

  • Some features remain available and will function as normal.

  • Unavailable features will appear grayed out until your connection is restored.

When you return to connection, you'll receive a notification if any of your offline changes weren't saved with an action sheet of which tasks have unsaved changes, so you can fix any errors and re-save those tasks.

(Note: do not close your Limble app while working offline, or you may lose your in-progress work.)
