Overview

Custom dashboards allow you to review and share real-time data about tasks, asset health, user performance, and more.

You can create a dashboard from scratch, or choose from one of our four pre-built dashboard templates.

Read the sections below to learn how to set up custom dashboards in Limble.

Table of Contents

Create a Dashboard from Scratch

Navigate to the Custom Dashboards page by clicking the gauge icon. Then, click "Add Dashboard."

Name your dashboard in the text box. Then, add your first widget by clicking "Create Widget."

In the new window, name your widget in the text box. Then, select the widget type.

Widget Types

In the "I want..." section, choose one of the following:

  • "Tasks" widgets can help you manage work, prioritize tasks, understand performance and downtime stats, and view operational costs.

  • "Users" widgets break down user performance with information about time spent on tasks and the number of tasks a user has -- both open and completed.

  • "Assets" widgets can be used to understand asset health performance metrics such as downtime, uptime, the number of associated tasks, and operational costs.

  • "Parts" widgets look at parts in stock, parts consumed, and the total cost of parts.

  • "POs (Purchase Orders)" widgets can be used to look at the total number of POs, PO items, and cost of POs.

Additional filtering options depend on the widget type. For example, task widgets can be filtered by task type, status, and priority.

With the exception of parts widgets, you will need to select a time period.

Time Period

In the "Within the Time Period..." section, select the time period. This which data is shown based on the selected date range.

By default, this will be "All Time."

From the dropdown, you can select a prefixed timeframe (i.e. "Last 7 Days" or "Last Month") a custom timeframe (i.e. "Last X Weeks" or "Next X Months"), or a custom date range.

For task widgets, you'll have the option to filter by "Created," "Due," or "Completed" date.

For PO widgets, you'll have the option to filter by "PO," "Received," or "Delivery" date.

(Note: customers on Basic and Standard plans have limited timeframe options. To upgrade your account or learn more, reach out to our support team.)

Once you select the time period, select how you want the widget to be viewed.

View Options

In the "Viewed as a..." section, choose one of the following views:

  • "Tile" view can be used to quickly highlight key metrics. For this option, you can customize the display color.

  • "List" view is helpful to look at several data points about an item one time.

  • "Pie Graph" is great for comparing all the parts that make up a data set.

  • "Line Graph" is helpful to look at trends overtime.

  • "Bar Graph" is helpful to look at trends overtime.

  • "Calendar" view is great for task management. This option is only available for

    task widgets.

The view options vary depending on the widget type. We recommend trying out different views to see what works best for your needs.

In the "Displaying the following information..." section, select the data you want included. The options vary depending on the selected widget type and view option.

Finally, you can choose from more filtering options to look at data in a specific location, user or asset group, and other advanced filters. These will also depend on the widget type, but can help you be more specific with your data set.

Once you have made your selections, click "Add."

Repeat this process until you have all desired widgets.

Create a Dashboard from a Template

If you're new to reporting or don't know where to start, we offer four dashboard templates to help you get going!

Navigate to the Custom Dashboards page by clicking the gauge icon. Then, click "Add Dashboard."

Then, click "Browse Templates." You'll have four templates to choose from:

Starter Dashboard

If you're new to Limble or reporting, the "Starter Dashboard" dashboard helps you set baseline task and asset data.

It provides a broad overview of current performance, helping you identify areas for deeper analysis and set goals to improve efficiency.

Asset Performance

The "Asset Performance" dashboard focuses on asset uptime, downtime, and operational cost data.

This info can help you identify which assets require the most resources so you can optimize maintenance schedules and minimize downtime.

Task Performance

The "Task Performance" dashboard breaks down open task data to understand your team's backlog, and completed task data to help you assess and improve work management.

Account Overview

The "Account Overview" dashboard looks at overall performance over a year's time.

Focusing on task efficiency, operational costs, and asset health, these widgets turn complex data into a clear, high-level report for stakeholders and teammates alike.

Choose the template from the left pane, then click "Use This Template."

When the template generates, you can change the dashboard name, edit or add more widgets, and configure the dashboard to your liking.

To access the templates again, create a new dashboard and repeat this process.

Edit Widgets & Configuration

You can update widgets anytime. Make changes by hovering over the widget until options appear:

  • Use the pencil icon to edit a widget.

  • Use the duplicate icon to copy a widget.

  • Use the trash can icon to delete a widget.

Widgets can easily be moved and organized to your preferred view. Hover over the widget name. When the four-way arrow icon appears, grab and drop the widget in the preferred place.

You can change the size of a widget by grabbing the corner and dragging to the desired size.

Change, Rotate, Duplicate, & Delete Dashboards

To look at another dashboard, click the caret icon next to the dashboard name, and select the desired dashboard from the dropdown.

To set up an automatic rotation, click on “Rotate Dashboards.” From the dropdown, select the dashboards and desired duration (in seconds) before it will rotate again. Then, click “Start Rotate.”

You can use the duplicate icon to copy a dashboard, and the trash can icon to delete a dashboard.
