Overview

QR codes are one of the most utilized features in Limble, and printing them on labels is easy.

In most cases, labels can be printed directly within Limble, and do not require additional software. You would only need to use Avery software if your labels require brand- or design-related customization, such as added logos or photos, custom fonts, or colors.

No matter which printing method you choose, neither Limble nor Avery require specialized printers: the only other materials you will need to purchase for printing labels are high-quality, durable-grade labels. We recommend using these labels from Avery.

In this article, learn how to use Avery’s free software to create and print customized labels in Limble.

Table of Contents

Step 1: Download Limble Data & Create Your Avery Account

Before you can create your labels, you’ll need to download the URLs and information from Limble.

Next, you need to register for a free Avery Design & Print account. This will grant you access to the Avery label-making software. Both your account and the software are free. The home screen will look something like this:

Once you’ve created your account, choose the option to “Start a New Project.”

Step 2: Find Your Label Template

Once you have created your account, you will see the Avery Label and Design software.

Under the Choose Template tab, use the search bar to find the label template that coordinates with the labels you have. You will find the template number on the label box.

Click on the label template to select it.

From the Choose Design tab, find the blank template design and click to select it.

(Note: in most instances, the labels we recommend have a horizontal orientation for maximum space. However, depending on your selected labels, a vertical label template may be ideal. If you’re unsure, refer to your label box to make the best decision for your needs.)

Step 3: Import Your Limble Data

Once you’ve picked the template, you’ll move to the Customize tab. Before customizing the look of your labels, you need to import your info from Limble.

Click “Import Data” from the navigation menu. Then click “Start Import/Merge.”

Click “Browse for File” and select the spreadsheet with the info you downloaded from Limble.

You will be prompted to choose the rows and columns you want to print on your labels.

We recommend removing any unwanted data before importing the spreadsheet.

Be sure to do the following:

  1. Import the URL by keeping the URL column selected. If you forget to import the URL at this step, you will not be able to create the QR codes.

  2. Remove the column names by deselecting the first row of data. If you don't remove them, it will generate a label with the column names.

When you’re satisfied with your selected fields, click “Next.”

Next, you’ll have the option to choose and arrange your selected fields. To do this, drag and drop the desired fields from "Imported Data Fields" to "Arrange Data Fields."

Unless you want to include the full link on your label in addition to the QR code, do not include the URL field in this step.

You can add additional text if desired.

For example, you can include the field name to identify the data. You will be able to make more advanced customizations later.

Once satisfied with your fields, click "Next."

From the new screen, click “Finish.”

Your labels will generate.

Step 4: Create QR Codes

Now that you’ve selected the fields you want to be included on your label, it’s time to create the QR codes.

From the navigation menu, click "QR and Barcodes," then "Add QR/Barcode."

In the new window, choose "Spreadsheet." Then, click "Next."

In the next screen, select the "Choose Fields" tab.

You will see the data imported in the previous step. Do not deselect any columns or rows. Doing so will remove the fields you already configured.

Click "Next."

First, from the "Industry Standard Format" dropdown, scroll down and select "QRCode."

Then, from the "Code Type" dropdown, select "URL."

Drag and drop your URL field into the "Website" field.

Then, click "Finish."

Your QR codes will generate.

Step 5: Customize Your Labels

To make changes to the design, make sure to select “Edit All” from the navigator window on the right-hand side. To make changes to individual labels, choose “Edit One.”

From here, you can reorganize your information fields, and move and re-size your QR codes -- we recommend at least 1” in size!

You can also upload custom photos or logos from by selecting Image from the navigation menu. To change the font type, size, or color, click Text.

Step 6: Print & Save Your Labels

Once you are finished customizing your labels, click “Preview & Print.”

Avery gives you the option to print the labels yourself, or get your labels printed and delivered through their service.

To print the labels yourself, choose “Get PDF to Print.” To have Avery print and ship your labels to you, choose “Let Us Print for You.”

(Note: Limble is not associated with Avery and cannot provide any information or support regarding shipping or printing through Avery’s service.)

You can also save your templates to your Avery account for printing or editing at a later time. Click “Save” from the top navigation bar.

From the new pop-up, name your template and click “Save to Your Account.”
