This article will help you figure out which printing option is best for your organization.

Standard Printer using Avery Labels

Limble QR Codes can be customized and printed using Avery labels. This is Limble's preferred method of printing QR codes because Avery offers a wide variety of label sizes, types, and durability (e.g., resistant to heat, sun, chemicals, etc.). Additionally, you don't have to purchase a special label printer to print them, and the Avery Customization software allows you to customize and print multiple labels at once (learn more).

Label Printer with Custom Design

The Dymo LabelWriter 450 a popular option for printing your labels, as it is cost-effective and comes with the Dymo Connect software for customization.

An Excel spreadsheet with QR Code information can be downloaded from Limble and imported into Dymo Connect. Importing an Excel spreadsheet is a quick and effective method for formatting and printing hundreds of labels in a matter of minutes. Dymo Connect can then auto-populate the information fields onto the labels.

While labels can be customized and printed in bulk, it is not possible to change the format for individual labels in a batch. Labels that require a different format will need to be printed from a separate document.

IMPORTANT: Dymo's stock labels labels are not resistant to UV rays or heat higher than 122°F (50°C). The label will turn black if they are exposed to these conditions. Keep labels out of direct sunlight and away from high temperatures. If your labels need to be exposed to these conditions, consider using a professional print company or Industrial Avery Labels (learn more).

Also, Dymo’s stock labels are not suited for caustic environments, but durable, clear tape can be used to cover the labels and preserve them. You can also purchase industrial-strength labels that are much more resistant to water, soap, acid, or other harsh conditions.

Standard office printer and packing tape

Limble generates its own label formats, which can be printed directly from Limble and require no formatting or labeling software. Information lookup and Work Request labels for multiple Assets/Parts can be printed simultaneously.

However, these labels are printed onto regular sheets of paper (8 ½" x 11") or label sheets that can be used with any laser or inkjet printer. Labels printed onto regular sheets of paper aren’t true labels; after cutting the labels out, they will need to be affixed to surfaces using packing tape.

Metal Labels

Limble has a partnership with Camcode, a company that specializes in creating metal labels and asset tags for harsher environments. Metal Labels are ideal for highly corrosive or harsh environments. They are covered with Teflon fluorocarbon film that will preserve labels against chemicals, solvents, cold, heat, and UV.

Before making your labels, Camcode will need an Excel spreadsheet with your QR Code information and the layout of your labels. You can inquire with Camcode for more information or to receive a quote

Branded QR Codes

Limble QR Codes aren't restricted to labels. For example, this Limble customer has posted QR Codes on their car wash equipment. This keeps the maintenance team informed about maintenance problems and has greatly improved their planning efficiency. They also have seen higher online reviews because their customers submit a maintenance ticket rather than leaving a negative review..

To print a QR code onto a poster, you will need to download the QR image itself or download the QR code in an Excel spreadsheet.
